Southport, Oak Island and Bald Head Island, NC

Southport, a quaint town filled with historic homes, is located at the confluence of the Atlantic Ocean, the Cape Fear River and the Intracoastal Waterway. Its downtown is a vibrant shopping area, and Southport is known as the Fourth of July Capital of North Carolina thanks to its major Independence Day festival.

Across the Intracoastal Waterway from Southport is Oak Island, where miles of beaches are accessible to the public. Vacation rentals, fishing piers and everything you need for a fun beach vacation are here.

Four miles out to sea is Bald Head Island, an ecological paradise reachable by boat or via the Bald Head Island Ferry.  The Bald Head Island Conservancy takes an active part in protecting the island's flora and fauna, including the loggerhead sea turtles that lay their eggs on the beaches every year.

Inland from Southport is Boiling Spring Lakes with its 50 lakes available for fishing, swimming and boating. Needless to say, this is a diverse region. Enjoy your stay!
